About The Position

Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is hiring PRN EMT-Basics in the Peoria area. AMT provides emergency and scheduled ambulance services in Central and Western Illinois and parts of Iowa as a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit. EMTs provide patient care during emergency responses, interfacility transports, and standby events in the Peoria, Pekin, and Chillicothe areas. Shifts are 12 or 24 hours, and PRN employees are expected to work 24 hours each month to remain in good standing.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Current Illinois EMT license.
Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
Valid Illinois driver's license.
Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 100 pounds, subject to physical exam.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in a stressful environment.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in an emergency care setting.

Responsibilities

Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care.
Provide emergency care using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Document patient information, condition, and treatment.
Maintain patient confidentiality and respect patient rights during care.
Transport patients according to outlined policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment in accordance with vehicle check-off sheets and inventory requirements.
Operate and drive an ambulance in compliance with applicable safety policies and laws.
Assist paramedics in advanced life support situations.
Maintain current certification(s) according to governing licensure provisions.
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
Present and promote a positive company image.
