This is a SEASONAL PRN position. The EMT-B will render basic life support procedures to patients in a variety of settings consistent with state and local operating protocols. This role requires the ability to work a variety of shift lengths, including 12-48 hour shifts, on-call shifts, and standby/special events of varying hours. The EMT-B will provide accurate oral reports to designated medical personnel, assist in extricating trapped victims, and transport sick and injured persons to the appropriate health care facility. The position also involves performing airway interventions, vital signs, blood glucose measurement, patient-specific treatments, monitoring, and interventions, including CPR, defibrillation, medication administration, and mechanical ventilation, as per Moffat County EMS Protocols. The EMT-B will observe, record, and report patients’ conditions and reactions, direct and coordinate patient care with other agency personnel, and drive the ambulance safely. They will communicate with physicians and other medical personnel via radio or telephone, and complete all reports accurately and by the end of shift. Daily assigned chores, including vehicle inspection, will also be performed. The EMT-B will perform all duties in a safe, courteous, confidential, and professional manner, mentor fellow staff, and maintain response readiness. Use of safety and PPE equipment is required. The role also demonstrates commitment to MRH values, maintains effective communication, adheres to dress code, exhibits initiative, completes required training, maintains patient confidentiality, reports to work punctually, contributes to performance improvement, and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety procedures.
