About The Position

Savannah Technical College is seeking an hourly lab professional for the EMT/AEMT/Paramedic program. The lab professional will provide practical lab instruction and evaluation to a level sufficient for students to develop the skills necessary to become employed in their chosen profession. This position will have lab duties at the Savannah and Hinesville campuses and may require regular travel between Savannah Technical College campus locations. This position requires the supervision of students during lab operations.

Requirements

Must be currently certified (NREMT) as an EMT/AEMT or Paramedic.
Must have Georgia license at the EMT/AEMT or Paramedic level.
Must have one year’ work experience within the last two years as an EMT/AEMT or Paramedic.
Must possess valid driver’s license and required insurability.
Must possess skill in oral and written communication.
Must possess excellent organizational skills.
Must possess excellent customer service skills to deal professionally with Savannah Tech employees, students, and visitors.
Successful completion of the course(s) or program which are appropriate to the assignment as an assistant.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques, testing, and grading procedures.
Must demonstrate knowledge of current procedures in the EMT/AEMT or Paramedic field and demonstrate the effective use of oral and written communication skills.
Follows approved lab procedures.
Monitors students’ use of supplies, materials, and equipment, and ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
Attends meetings as required and appropriate.
Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the field.
Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual.
Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia and other policies and procedures established by Savannah Technical College.
