About The Position

The EMS Program Coordinator serves as a vital liaison between the health system/market/hospital and area Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers. This role advocates for the hospital with private, local, regional, and state EMS agencies, and ensures collaboration across all care settings within the facility concerning EMS and public safety relations. The Program Coordinator is directly accountable for patient care in the Emergency Department under physician direction, communicating changes in patient condition to the medical team and physician, and responding quickly and accurately to clinical changes.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Paramedic license issued by the State.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • ACLS within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • PALS and/or ENPC required within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

  • One year EMS outreach experience preferred.
  • Three years EMS clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the health system/market/hospital and area Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers.
  • Serve as an advocate of the hospital with private, local, regional, and state EMS agencies.
  • Ensure collaboration across all care settings within the facility as it relates to EMS and public safety relations.
  • Be directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department under the direction of the physician.
  • Communicate directly with the medical team and physician regarding changes in the patient’s clinical condition.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in the patient’s condition and/or response to treatment.
