About The Position

This position is accountable for responding to calls for medical service for team members and guests. The position is required to provide quality patient care according to Spokane County EMS protocols. This position interacts throughout the various departments internally, local fire departments, local law enforcement agencies, emergency room physicians and others throughout the community.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years field experience as an Emergency Medical Technician to include 1 year minimum as a Paramedic.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs and other computer software.
  • Ability to pass Paramedic standards set forth by Northern Quest Casino Medical Program Director.
  • Current Washington State Paramedic with Spokane County certification.
  • Ability to schedule training for all team members associated with CPR, First Aid, AED, EMT-Basic and EMT-Intermediate.
  • Ability to instruct and evaluate all team members in CPR, First Aid and AED.
  • Ability to instruct and evaluate all EMT-Basic and EMT Intermediate Team Members.
  • Certified American Heart Association BLS Instructor
  • Certified American Heart Association First Aid Instructor.
  • Skill in Identifying and resolving problems in high-pressure conditions.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License.
  • Valid driver's license (Must be in possession while operating a Tribal Vehicle).
  • Maintain physical health
  • Hearing examination
  • Frequent local travel and occasional of-of-town travel.
  • Occasional work to be performed outside of general business hours, including, but not limited to, emergency calls, attending evening or weekend meetings/travel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians-State of Washington Gambling Compact, Internal Controls, NIGC Regulation and Northern Quest Policies and Procedures.
  • Assess and treat emergency and non-emergency patients. Correctly perform clinical procedures and use sounds judgment regarding treatment and transport of patients.
  • Understand the requirements, nature and function of the practice of medicine in the field. Appropriately administer ACLS and advanced life support procedures in compliance with current Spokane County Medical Protocols.
  • Maintain a complete knowledge of Northern Quest Casino’s policies and procedures.
  • Work with Safety and Risk Management in the investigation and outcome of team member work related injuries.
  • Work with Safety and Risk Management in the investigation and outcome of customer injuries.
  • Complete patient care reports for each response with complete and accurate documentation of patent care rendered.
  • Complete patient release and cancellation forms when appropriate.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with other health care professionals and pre-hospital care providers.
  • Work with all departments in the implementation of CPR, First Aid, Safety training and AED instruction. Maintain all records of such instruction and teach according to American Heart Association standards.
  • Ensure that all patient contacts, guest or team member, are kept at the highest standard of professionalism and in complete confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA.
  • Schedule and instruct further education programs in conjunction with Washington State Department of Health OTEP programs for EMT Basic and EMT Intermediate. Ensure proper documentation of such programs and ensure proper certification of said team members.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of first aid supplies to include al Basic and Advanced Life Support equipment for all departments. Ensure all medical equipment is maintained in excellent working order and scheduled for routine maintenance as required.
  • Perform proper documentation of medical inventory to keep within inventory compliance and budgetary restraints.
  • Introduce safety programs to team members and teach safety to all departments as instructed by Risk Management.
  • Perform routine and schedule safety inspections in conjunction with Safety and Risk Management.
  • Available and willing to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for Business Levels.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record.
  • May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings.
  • May be instructed by management to perform other duties as assigned.
