About The Position

The EMS Logistics & Education is a mid-level operational position responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of all EMS equipment and supplies, as well as coordinating and delivering training programs for EMS personnel. This role serves as the primary liaison between field crews, administration, and vendors to ensure units are fully stocked, equipment is maintained and compliant, and staff certifications remain current. The ideal candidate brings hands-on EMS field experience combined with strong organizational and instructional skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory of all medical supplies, medications, and equipment across all EMS units and station locations.
  • Develop and maintain a par-level system to ensure appropriate stock levels; coordinate reorder processes with approved vendors.
  • Receive, inspect, and distribute incoming supplies and equipment; maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Coordinate scheduled and corrective maintenance of EMS equipment including monitors, stretchers, airway devices, and other clinical tools.
  • Ensure all medical equipment is inspected, tested, and documented per agency protocol and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Track and manage controlled substance inventory in compliance with DEA and state regulations, working in coordination with the Medical Director.
  • Assist with fleet logistics as it relates to stocking, outfitting, and restocking ambulances and response vehicles.
  • Maintain a digital or electronic inventory management system; generate reports as requested by administration.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate EMS continuing education programs to meet state, national, and agency requirements.
  • Develop and deliver in-house training on clinical skills, equipment operation, protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Track and maintain certification and recertification records for all EMS personnel, including EMT, Paramedic, ACLS, PALS, and CPR.
  • Issue timely alerts and notifications to crews and supervisors regarding upcoming certification expirations.
  • Coordinate with external training providers, educational institutions, and accreditation bodies as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new EMS staff, ensuring initial competency verification.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through skills assessments, testing, and observation; recommend curriculum improvements.
  • Maintain training records and documentation in compliance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Prepare and submit budget recommendations related to supply procurement and training program expenses.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and participate in contract review processes for equipment and supply agreements.
  • Collaborate with operations, dispatch, and leadership to anticipate logistical needs during high-volume or special operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations related to EMS supplies, equipment, and training.
  • Assist in the development and revision of agency policies and standard operating guidelines related to logistics and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the EMS Director or EMS Deputy Director.
