The UPMC Center for Emergency Medicine is looking to hire an EMS Communications Specialist to support STAT MedEvac and UPMC PARC. UPMC PARC operates 24/7 and requires continuous staffing. Candidates must be flexible and available for any shift. Daylight and evening shifts are typically 8 or 10 hours, depending on departmental needs, while overnight shifts are 10 hours. Additionally, shifts include rotating weekends and holidays. The opportunity to telecommute some shifts may be granted after a minimum of six months of work in office in West Mifflin, PA; as well as successful demonstration of job responsibilities and approval of STAT MedEvac Communications leadership. The EMS Communications Specialist is responsible for processing incoming patient transport requests and processing all incoming phone calls in a timely manner; and is responsible for processing all condition codes, monitoring fire alarms, addressing security requests, and providing phone operator service during off hours.
