About The Position

Vituity is seeking an Emergency Medicine Assistant EMS Medical Director in Evansville, IN. This role is with Ascension St. Vincent Evansville and offers a unique opportunity to join a physician-owned partnership with a focus on increasing impact through autonomy, local control, and a national system of support. Vituity has opportunities across the country, allowing for job mobility. This position requires clinical shifts and 15-20 administrator hours per month. No prior experience as an EMS Medical Director is required, but a strong interest in EMS and willingness to learn are essential. The role includes mentorship from an experienced system EMS medical director and an EMS chief. Key responsibilities include communicating Vituity's mission, vision, and values, and ensuring accurate and compliant EMS medical protocols. The position oversees a combination of volunteer and career fire and EMS departments sponsored by Ascension St. Vincent Evansville, with an average run volume of 1600 runs per year.

Requirements

  • Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school and completion of residency through an accredited residency program required.
  • Superior clinical skills in order to serve as role model by setting high standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to motivate physicians and APs, work successfully with a diversity of people and locations, maintain good working relationships.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships quickly with both clients and non-clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be interested in EMS and willing to learn.
