About The Position

The AMS Group, part of Dover Food Retail, is seeking an Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Electrical Supervisor. This role involves supervising and directing an EMS and Electrical team responsible for documenting and installing control system hardware, cabling, and conduit for refrigeration and building energy management conversions and upgrades. The supervisor will also direct hands-on technician duties related to the installation and maintenance of EMS and Electrical solutions in various retail environments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience working with electrical systems, with a strong emphasis on commercial construction projects.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management and on-site foreman responsibilities.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
  • Progressive work experience leading to supervisory role.

  • Willingness and ability to travel 50-70% of the time.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and perform job safely to OSHA and Hillphoenix protocols; thorough knowledge of safety procedures, legal regulations, and guidelines.
  • Must have trade related skills and knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
  • Demonstrable ability to use electrical hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration EMS and Electrical systems; understands Refrigeration/HVAC control wiring.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial settings.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Basic computer skills; ability to use laptop and smart phone.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and a professional attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation team and maintenance of Energy Management Systems and Electrical installations in coordination with cross-functional trade members.
  • Coordinate personnel and resources as needed for job sites and projects.
  • Assist on job sites where needed for additional support.
  • Address employee performance and conduct issues in a timely and professional manner, partnering with HR as needed.
  • Develop and train new employees to perform job functions within AMS qualifications and standards.
  • Read blueprints and interpret control and ladder logic type diagrams.
  • Use standard hand tools, power tools, and specialty tools such as voltmeter, multi-meter, amprobe, manometer, and RPM speed indicator.
  • Execute plans of control wiring and other electrical systems.
  • Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems.
  • Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.).
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
  • Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
  • Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
