EMR Medical Records Lead
About The Position
The HIM Team Lead ensures the accurate, secure, and compliant management of patient data, often acting as a point of contact for health information management (HIM) related issues. This role involves assisting managerial staff in workflow and daily operations, ensuring department goals are met and all applicable state and federal regulations are adhered to in accordance with HIPAA and privacy rules. The Lead is also responsible for conducting initial and ongoing training and mentoring for new and existing staff, assisting employees with day-to-day questions and issues, and escalating systemic issues to supervisors. Additionally, the Lead is responsible for processing their own assigned work queue.
Requirements
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Awareness of HIPPA and Privacy regulations.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
- At least 2 years' experience in assigned area of HIM responsibility.

- Degree in HIM is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Assist managerial staff in areas of workflow and day to day operations ensuring department goals are met and all applicable state and federal regulations are adhered to in accordance with HIPAA and privacy rules.
- Conduct initial and ongoing training and mentoring for new and existing staff (sessions, one-on-one, etc..).
- Assist employees with day-to-day questions, issues or problems and escalate identified systemic issues to supervisor.
