About The Position

The EMR Data Reconciliation Specialist will assist the operations team and patients to reconcile orders, messages, and other data in a timely, accurate, and confidential manner. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of patient records within the EMR system.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to handle a multi-line phone system.
  • Ability to organize work material and/or charts to ensure accuracy of patient records.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of patients, staff members as well as external providers and/or agencies.
  • Neat appearance and professional demeanor and pleasant phone demeanor.
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of modern business communication, including style and format of letters, memoranda, minutes, and reports.
  • Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with little supervision.
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A willingness to learn new tasks and be flexible to work on new priorities as they arise.
  • Flexibility in working hours willing to work occasional overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ experience working in a medical environment (office, clinical, or hospital).

Responsibilities

  • Review and reconcile aging EMR open orders in a timely manner; escalate unresolved orders to office leads or as directed by supervisor.
  • Notate received order results with appropriate documentation/charting methods.
  • Manage patient non-compliance letters with appropriate documentation/charting methods.
  • Review and document direct provider messaging between EMR systems.
  • Task physician liaison/support team to ensure timely management of patient care.
  • Input monthly provider call schedules into EMR system(s).
  • Reconcile open appointments weekly or as directed.
  • Review and update patient portal chart requests daily or as directed.
  • Maintain daily working knowledge of physician’s schedules.
  • Communicate and escalate quality of care or delayed care concerns to practice operations managers or respective supervisor.
  • Support and demonstrate flexibility for ad-hoc projects or special assignments related to patient and/or EMR data.
  • Attend all team meetings and in services as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient, personal and financial information by utilizing HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Perform any other tasks as requested by the physician, director, human resource manager, and/or the office supervisor.
