About The Position

Northeast Counseling Services is seeking a motivated and compassionate Employment & Vocational Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. The Vocational Specialist will work directly with individuals living with serious mental health challenges, helping them identify and achieve their vocational and employment goals. As part of a multidisciplinary ACT Team, you will provide services in the community and meet individuals where they are, helping them build skills, explore employment opportunities, overcome barriers, and move toward greater independence and recovery. You will be part of a collaborative team that includes a Psychiatrist/Physician Assistant, RNs, Mental Health Professional, Drug & Alcohol Counselor, Housing Specialist, and Certified Peer Specialist. ACT Team services are designed to meet clients' needs when and where support is needed, therefore, some evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required. A valid driver's license is required, as this position involves regular travel throughout the community to provide services.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Rehabilitation Counseling.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of an FBI Clearance, PA Criminal Clearance and Child Abuse Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling is preferred.
  • Candidates with other qualifying Master's Degrees and an interest in vocational services and community-based mental health will also be considered.
