About The Position

Assist clients with disabilities in searching for and obtaining competitive employment. Develop and manage employment relationships between clients and community employers, providing access to a wide range of job opportunities. Responsibilities include vocational guidance, community work experiences, job development, job placement, employer education, job coaching, and customer relations. Support clients through all aspects of the employment process, including resume writing, interview preparation, travel training, and workplace etiquette. Teach small groups in multiple locally assigned schools, supporting neurodiverse students ages 14–22 in developing pre-employment and transitional skills to better prepare them for the workforce or post-secondary education. Key responsibilities include instruction and engagement in self-advocacy, job exploration, workplace readiness skills, work-based learning experiences (such as internships), and post-secondary planning. Collaborate with school personnel, higher education programs, and community employers to build strong partnerships that support students’ goals. Utilize innovative technology, including virtual reality and online platforms, to enhance instruction and student engagement.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data entry, email, internet navigation, and electronic documentation systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and successfully manage multiple participants, employer relationships, and assignments simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license with at least three years of driving experience, a clean driving record, access to a reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel throughout the region to employers, participant residences, offices, and community organizations.

  • Experience in job development, employment services, workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, recruiting, business outreach, sales, or related fields preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employers, community partners, and local organizations to identify employment opportunities.
  • Experience facilitating groups, providing employment-related instruction, coaching, or training, and working effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong networking, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to confidently engage employers and advocate for participant employment opportunities.
  • While experience supporting individuals with disabilities is valued, applicants with backgrounds in employment services, workforce development, business engagement, recruiting, or vocational rehabilitation are strongly encouraged to apply.
