About The Position

The Employment Training Specialist assists clients who have secured community employment in maintaining and developing vocational skills needed to achieve their vocational goals. The role provides direct job coaching, support, and advocacy, helping clients meet their employers’ expectations and grow in achievement and independence.

This is a part-time position of up to 29 hours per week. Work may be scheduled Monday through Sunday according to client needs, may extend beyond the regular workday, and may require responding to requests to work with 24-hour notice.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Ability to secure a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to secure a Health and Welfare criminal background check.
• Supervisors must pass a Department of Health and Welfare background check.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in a related field, such as vocational rehabilitation, special education, teaching, or counseling.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct job coaching, support, and advocacy to clients employed in the community.
• Help clients maintain and develop vocational skills needed to achieve their vocational goals.
• Train and coach clients to meet their employers’ expectations.
