About The Position

Bios is seeking a personable, energetic, and dedicated Vocational Support Specialist to join their Vocational team. This role involves working under the supervision of a Lead Job Coach, Vocational Program Manager, and Area Director. The specialist is responsible for providing onsite training to individuals, daily data input, quality control, monthly documentation, and weekly oral communication with the Vocational Program Manager and/or Area Director. Key duties include following BIOS Policy and Procedures, documenting time and progress via Therap and Paycom daily, maintaining good rapport with employers, completing data for professionals and quarterly reports, communicating programming issues, providing co-worker coverage, transporting individuals using a personal vehicle, creating a safe learning environment, supporting relationship development, facilitating job aspects through task analysis, updating person-centered descriptions, and maintaining certifications and educational standards.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds to provide services
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
  • Must have clear criminal history record
  • Must be drug free

Responsibilities

  • Oral communication on a weekly basis with the Vocational Program Manager and/or Area Director
  • Following BIOS Policy and Procedures
  • Providing onsite training to individuals as they are assigned by the Vocational Program Manager
  • Entering and Documenting Time and Progress on the job via Therap and Paycom daily
  • Maintaining good rapport with employers
  • Providing quality control on a daily basis
  • Completing Data related to professionals and Quarterly reports
  • Communicating on a weekly basis with the Vocational Manager regarding programming issues
  • Providing coverage for co-workers as needed
  • Using personal vehicle to transport supported people to and from work
  • Creating a safe, and gentle learning environment by using person-centered skills
  • Supporting people to develop relationships, create connections to increase opportunities
  • Facilitating all aspects of the job by creating task analysis that lines out step by step instruction
  • Responsible for up-dating person-centered descriptions and 1-page profiles as needed
  • Providing on-site hands-on training and support in a variety of settings to ensure retention of job duties
  • Maintaining current certification and maintaining the educational standards as directed by DHS/DDSD and the individual plan
