About The Position
The Employment Training Specialist supports individuals with disabilities to identify employment goals, build workplace skills, and succeed in competitive, integrated jobs. This community-based role includes hands-on coaching, employer collaboration, and timely documentation to meet program and funding requirements. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid NYS Class D driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- one-year related experience in vocational services, supported employment, workforce development, or human services preferred
Responsibilities
- Complete person-centered assessments to identify interests, strengths, and employment goals
- Build relationships with employers and community partners to identify and secure job opportunities
- Provide on-site and off-site job coaching to teach job tasks, promote independence, and support retention
- Develop and implement individualized employment and training plans aligned with person-centered planning
