About The Position

DRTC is seeking a mission-driven and dependable Employment Training Specialist / Job Coach to support individuals with developmental disabilities in developing job skills, increasing independence, and succeeding in community and center-based work environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on coaching, teaching, community-based work, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in community-based settings
  • Reliable, professional, and adaptable
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a valid Real ID Compliant Oklahoma Driver’s License
  • Must pass background checks (OSBI, DHS Registry, MVR), drug screening, and reference checks
  • Ability to safely operate agency vehicles, including passenger vans
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and sound decision-making
  • Ability to stand and remain active up to 8 hours per day
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. vertically and 25 lbs. horizontally
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and movement
  • Must be able to perform CPR, First Aid, AED use, Heimlich maneuver, and seizure response
  • Ability to assist individuals in various physical activities and environments

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred (not required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous supervision and direct support to individuals in community job sites (enclaves) and training environments
  • Train individuals on job tasks, workplace expectations, safety, and communication skills
  • Support development of vocational and life skills to promote independence
  • Deliver on-site coaching and hands-on instruction tailored to individual goals
  • Monitor work quality and ensure completion of assigned tasks and deadlines
  • Provide positive behavior supports and assist with crisis intervention if needed
  • Assist with personal care needs when required
  • Transport individuals to and from job sites using agency vehicles (including 12–15 passenger vans)
  • Ensure safety during all transportation and community-based activities
  • Help individuals adapt to a variety of work environments including retail, warehouse, and service settings
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance, progress notes, work tickets, and performance data
  • Follow all regulatory requirements including DDS, ADA, and USDOL standards
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
  • Assist with group training classes and vocational instruction
  • Implement and document progress toward individual goals as assigned
  • Support production center activities including workflow setup and quality control
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and required certifications
