About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking an Employment Specialist to join their Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) Integrated Teams. These teams provide clinical interventions and peer and family support to help individuals engage, improve functioning, stabilize symptoms, and manage their conditions. The goal is to assist individuals in developing skills and establishing resources to live successfully in the community. The Employment Specialist will provide flexible, comprehensive employment supports based on the IPS/Supported Employment model, working with individuals who have the potential to work. This role involves engaging individuals in job placement and support, coordinating with the team for readiness and skill development, educating stakeholders about employment and education opportunities, providing guidance on benefits management, and representing the agency to employers while advocating for employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

  • Ability to work as a member of a team and to function independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide flexible, comprehensive employment supports following principles of the IPS/Supported Employment model.
  • Work with individuals, approaching all service users as having the potential to work, and engage them in job placement and support.
  • Coordinate with the Team, as needed, to assist with readiness and associated skills development.
  • Educate individuals, team members, and others about employment and education opportunities.
  • Provide guidance about benefits management in the context of employment and education.
  • Represent the agency in discussions with employers.
  • Advocate within the community for the expansion of employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
