About The Position

The successful candidate will be expected to: Assist participants with job-readiness skills and job development including resume-building, communication, interviewing skills, and the employment application process. Discover the participant’s skill set to ensure appropriate job matches. Network with local employers to increase opportunities for participants. Provide participants with on-the-job training including interaction with supervisors and co-workers. Provide ongoing advocacy and support to ensure long-term job retention and to facilitate career growth. Provide accurate, detailed, and timely documentation of supports. Attend meetings, participate in community meetings and training as applicable.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree preferred. Related experience may be considered in lieu of higher education.
  • Excellent customer service and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid NYS driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • college degree preferred
  • Knowledge of or experience working with ADA, ACCES-VR, OPWDD, OMH and the employment market preferred.
  • Experience in customer service and working with people with disabilities.
