About The Position

Join the Team at the Institute of Applied Behavior Analysis! We are hiring Employment Specialists to support Adults with Developmental Disabilities in Ventura County, CA. This is a rewarding opportunity to support adults with autism and/or other intellectual disabilities. We are rapidly expanding and in need of new staff who are eager to grow with the company. Candidates can be experienced or IABA will provide training for highly motivated non-experienced staff! Non-degree holders and folks pivoting their career are encouraged to apply! As an Employment Specialist, you will have the opportunity to directly impact someone’s life for the better by supporting individuals with disabilities and matching them with activities, volunteer work, interests, and/or employment. Requirements

• Possess a minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Conduct themselves in a professional, responsible and reliable manner
• Have the motivation to learn new skills and help people
• Possess a reliable automobile and be willing to transport clients
• CPR/First Aid certification prior to start date
• Complete ACRE training within first year of employment
• Negative TB test result
• Provide personal care assistance as needed (restroom assistance/changing diaper, wheelchair assistance, comfortable with ADLs)
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and lift 25 lbs.
• Successfully pass a Live Scan DOJ/FBI background check
• Possess a valid California Driver's license and provide a current driving record issued by the DMV
• Provide proof of current car insurance

Nice To Haves

• Prior training and/or experience in ABA are a plus!

Responsibilities

• Facilitate meaningful community connections with your clients
• Support individuals at their job site as a job coach
• Facilitate employment and life skill building opportunities
• Support individuals at their places of employment, school and in the community
• Provide transportation using personal vehicle and assist individuals in using public transportation
• Teach independent life skills
• Work 1 on 1 with clients or in a group setting
• Increase helpful, adaptive behaviors
• Have fun!
