About The Position

MOC’s mission is to empower families to achieve economic security by eliminating barriers and creating opportunities. To alleviate poverty, we deliver a variety of services including childcare, education, workforce development, nutrition, health, and community and housing support. The Employment Specialist is responsible for carrying out the services of the MOC Supported Employment Programs by assisting clients to obtain and maintain employment that is consistent with their vocational goals.

Requirements

Education and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in workforce training & development, social services, or business
The ability to work as an effective team player is essential
Must be eligible to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

Experience working with people with barriers to employment, experience providing employment services, and knowledge of the work world are preferred
Bilingual a plus

Responsibilities

Engaging clients and establishing relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in a job setting that provides long-term, sustainable employment.
Collaborate with community providers to establish stream of referrals and resources for employment programs
Present, on behalf of MOC, at community workforce events, as needed
Assess clients' vocational functioning on an ongoing basis utilizing background information and work experiences
Conducts job development and job search activities to assist caseload
Provide individualized follow-along support to assist clients in maintaining employment.
Provide education and support to the clients, as needed
Conduct outreach services, as needed, with clients who appear to disengage from the service.
Develop an individual employment/education plan with each active caseload
Meet with individuals in the community, as needed
Assist with the development of the SNAP Employment and Training (E&T) program
