About The Position

Rubicon transforms East Bay communities by empowering individuals to break the cycle of poverty. The Career Coach, reporting to the AJCC Site Manager, is part of a dedicated team providing employment services to economically disadvantaged populations in Alameda County. The Career Coach will also work on grant projects, ensuring the successful implementation and achievement of project goals. This is a temporary (12 months) full-time, non-exempt position.

Requirements

  • Solid job development, career coaching and case management experience and expertise. Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of best practices for assisting economically disadvantaged and/or other misrepresented populations (WIOA vocational counseling and employment services highly desirable).
  • Teamwork, interpersonal flexibility, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to inspire others; Ability to maintain professional partnerships and relations.
  • Solid workshop facilitation skills and abilities.
  • Computer and internet literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency, experience with CRM systems helpful.
  • This position requires occasional travel to appointments and other Rubicon meetings; if the employee opts to meet these travel requirements by driving, proof of a valid and current driver’s license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required.

Responsibilities

  • Case management/coaching and job placement: Individual responsibility for direct services to WIOA program participants including career assessments, service referrals, determination of program eligibility, coordination of individual training accounts, job referral and employment preparation services. Participate in employer recruitment events, job fairs, and networking events to support participants in their job search and placement efforts.
  • Workshop Facilitation: Effectively deliver employment readiness workshop topics including resume development, job search skills, career exploration, program information and eligibility sessions to participants in a culturally accountable, participant-centered way, utilizing facilitation techniques appropriate to adult learners.
  • Project management: Lead the development and coordination of special initiatives to support program goals. Manage project timelines, allocate tasks, report and monitor progress to ensure timely and successful close out of the project. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned with project objectives.
  • Data Documentation and Reporting: Accurate collection of essential data and information related to job performance. Timely entry of this information into an electronic data system, and the tracking of important program and service-related information for reporting purposes. The ability to tabulate data and write narrative responses that effectively report and memorialize necessary information about participants and program activities. Adherence to agency standards concerning the type, method and timing of data entry at all points of the participant eligibility, enrollment, and service delivery process. A demonstrated understanding of privacy protection and data security, ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive and PII throughout all stages of data handling.
