About The Position

RISE Employment Mentors provide individualized, one-on-one, on-the-job training and support to help clients succeed at work. Support includes developing job-keeping behaviors, analyzing tasks, building skills to complete specific tasks, developing natural supports, and identifying and implementing reasonable accommodations at job sites. Employment Mentors advocate for clients at work, document daily progress, and conduct periodic evaluations to assess progress toward goals. Because the role involves autonomy, accurate time, mileage, and billing records are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and car insurance.
Must pass a background check.
Must provide or obtain CPR/First Aid Certification; RISE provides the certification.
Maintain accurate time, mileage, and billing information.

Responsibilities

Support and encourage clients to maintain their jobs.
Communicate with clients’ job-site supervisors about services and progress.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and team members.
Maintain a positive, professional attitude and appropriate communication and appearance in work relationships.
Provide individualized on-the-job training and support, including task analysis and skill development.
Advocate for clients at job sites and help develop natural supports and reasonable accommodations.
Document clients’ daily progress and conduct periodic evaluations of progress toward goals.
Maintain accurate time, mileage, and billing records.
