About The Position

The Employment Manager plays a key role in supporting plant operations by leading and coordinating recruiting, staffing, and workforce planning efforts to attract and retain top talent. This position is responsible for overseeing the full employment lifecycle, including recruitment strategies, candidate sourcing, selection processes, onboarding, and employment-related compliance. Working closely with plant leadership, hiring managers, and HR teams, the Employment Manager helps ensure staffing needs are met efficiently while promoting a positive candidate and new hire experience. This role provides guidance and support to recruiting and HR team members, monitors employment trends and metrics, and drives initiatives that strengthen workforce effectiveness and support the organization's overall business objectives.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Resources related field however, additional related work experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirement
  • Two years of previous experience Human Resources/Employment leadership preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, compensation, benefits, labor relations, and employment law.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with plant leadership, manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and drive HR initiatives that support business objectives and team member engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Leads recruiting and staffing efforts for hourly and salaried positions based on Pilgrim’s best practices, ensuring workforce needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws, immigration requirements, and company policies, including oversight of I-9 completion and employment eligibility verification processes.
  • Develops and coordinates recruiting strategies, community outreach initiatives, career fairs, and other talent attraction activities to build strong candidate pipelines.
  • Prepares and analyzes employment metrics, staffing reports, and workforce data to support plant, complex, and corporate objectives.
  • Supports workforce planning, onboarding, and retention initiatives to improve new hire success and long-term employee retention.
  • Facilitates employment-related training programs, internship initiatives, employee engagement activities, and regular compliance audits to support organizational effectiveness and a positive employee experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.
