About The Position

Kaufman Dolowich LLP is seeking a talented and driven Employment Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join their growing Employment Practices Group in San Francisco, California. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and entrepreneurial team within a nationally recognized law firm of more than 250 attorneys nationwide. Their Employment Practices Group partners with employers across a broad range of industries, handling complex employment disputes, labor matters, workplace investigations, and high-exposure wage and hour litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation, advocacy, and client-management skills, with experience independently managing sophisticated employment matters through all phases of litigation.

Requirements

  • Admission to practice in California required
  • Minimum of 5 years of employment litigation experience
  • Experience handling employment litigation matters in both state and federal courts
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, and managing complex litigation matters
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage an active caseload and prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceptional client service

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage all phases of employment litigation from inception through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related filings
  • Conduct and defend depositions and participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, and other dispute resolution proceedings
  • Attend and advocate at court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and trials
  • Handle matters involving employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, PAGA claims, and other employment-related matters
  • Represent employers in investigations and proceedings before federal, state, and local agencies
  • Advise and counsel employers on workplace issues, employment law compliance, personnel matters, and risk management strategies
  • Manage discovery, motion practice, investigations, and case deadlines in both state and federal courts
  • Communicate directly with clients, provide strategic guidance, and maintain strong client relationships
  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups to develop litigation strategies and achieve favorable outcomes
