JOB DESCRIPTION As an Employment Law Intern, you will complete tasks including, but not limited to: legal research, reviewing and summarizing policies, assisting with compliance audits, drafting and editing employment-related documents, supporting workplace investigations, preparing case files, analyzing labor and employment regulations, attending meetings with HR and legal partners, and other employment law support tasks as assigned. How You Will Make Contributions That Matter Assist attorneys in conducting legal research on employment and labor law issues, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and wrongful termination. Assist attorneys in drafting position statement responses to federal, state and local agency charges, including but not limited to charges from the EEOC, DWFD and OSHA. Review and analyze legal documents, case files, and evidence. Assist attorneys in conducting internal employment law investigations. Support both in-house and outside counsel attorneys in the preparation of legal strategies and case management. Assist attorneys in providing advice and counsel to business partners and stakeholders. Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation. Assist in the preparation of presentations and training materials on employment law topics. Perform other administrative and legal support tasks as assigned. You are best suited for the role if you have the following experience, skills, and qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business management or any related field. Candidate must be currently pursuing their Juris Doctor program. Have demonstrated excellent writing skills through the submission of a writing example. Have the ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts. Are self-motivated, possess good organizational skills, are detail-oriented, prioritize accuracy, can multi-task and meet deadlines. Are proficient in the use of Word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Have the ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Have the ability to work scheduled hours and required overtime (as needed). Display traits of reliability, honesty, respect, attention to detail, and punctuality. Can work independently, and as part of a team. Demonstrate professionalism and positively represents and promotes Saputo at all times. Enjoys working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
