What You'll do: Groundswell is seeking an HR Intern to help support Groundswell’s internal labor compliance and employee relations operations. This role is responsible for carrying out preliminary research, documenting meeting minutes, and assisting with audit and annual filing preparations, data analysis and policy monitoring. The ideal candidate has an interest in labor law, understanding how statutes and regulations influence policy, an analytical mindset, and a willingness to take on challenges. This role sits in the People Operations team reporting to the Lead of the Benefits Center of Excellence.

Requirements

  • Ability to translate policy into process and employee communications
  • Active enrollment in an undergraduate degree program.
  • Must be local to the DC Metro area.
  • The role is 5 days a week, with a minimum of 3 days a week on site at our Mclean, VA office.
  • Typical hours are 9am-5pm ET.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for HR compliance initiatives and special projects as assigned and overseen by senior team members.
  • Maintain organized files, trackers, and logs related to compliance activities subject to review.
  • Documentation, filing, standardizing contract language for consistency
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, or briefings related to HR compliance as an observer or note-taker under senior guidance.
  • Conduct research and gather information on state and federal statutes/regulations related to labor practices.
  • Physically and electronically filling and storing documentation.
  • Creating Job Aids and Stand Operating Procedure Documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.
