Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience with practicing employment law in a law firm or corporate or government environment
  • J.D. degree
  • Active bar admission in any U.S. state or the District of Columbia

  • Experience with government contracting, including with or in technology companies
  • Experience with large law firm and in-house roles
  • Experience with working under pressure, managing multiple complex matters simultaneously, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Advising clients and business partners at all levels of leadership on a wide range of employment-related matters, including disciplinary actions and separations, performance and behavior management issues, workplace safety and wellness concerns, military and medical leaves of absence, and accommodations.
  • Managing the full cycle of litigating employment matters, including initial case evaluation, communicating with opposing counsel, engaging outside counsel, reviewing pleadings and motions, discovery, mediation, and trial.
  • Leading or advising on complex employment investigations of violations of law or policy, including matters involving employee misconduct, such as allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and conflict of interest.
  • Drafting and enforcing non-compete and non-solicitation agreements and navigating through strategic and complex non-compete related issues.
  • Drafting EEOC position statements and persuasive correspondence.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, listening actively and ensuring that the right questions are being asked and answered, exercising judgment and discretion to navigate novel and complex issues, and advising when there is no clear path forward.
  • Translating technical advice into succinct, clear, and direct business solutions and executing against clear objectives, priorities, and success metrics.
