About The Position

DO & CO is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Employment Counsel to support the company’s growing U.S. operations across labor and employment matters. This role will partner closely with HR, Operations, and senior leadership to provide practical legal guidance on employee relations, workplace investigations, compliance, and litigation support. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of focused employment law experience, preferably within a law firm or in-house environment, and possess strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 2–3 years of employment law experience, preferably handling investigations, EEOC responses, and employee relations matters.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws including ADA, FMLA, FLSA, Title VII, and related regulations.
  • Experience supporting workplace investigations and employment-related disputes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments while exercising sound legal judgment and discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting hospitality, aviation, food production, manufacturing, or multi-site operational environments preferred.
  • Prior in-house experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day legal counsel on employment-related matters including employee relations, disciplinary actions, accommodations, leave management, wage and hour compliance, and terminations.
  • Advise HR and business leaders on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development, review, and implementation of employment policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support and conduct internal workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and other employee concerns.
  • Partner with HR to assess risk, document findings, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Help manage sensitive employee relations matters with professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
  • Assist with responding to EEOC charges, state agency complaints, attorney demand letters, and other employment-related claims.
  • Support outside counsel in employment litigation matters, including document collection, fact development, witness preparation, and case management.
  • Maintain organized legal records and assist with litigation tracking and reporting.
  • Monitor developments in employment law and help ensure ongoing compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist with compliance audits and risk assessments related to employment practices.
  • Support the creation and delivery of employment law trainings for managers and employees.
