As our Employment Consultant, you will assist employment clients to gain and maintain sustainable employment in accordance with the performance, compliance and quality requirements of Vision Australia, the Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Disability Employment Services program (DES) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). In this role you will also: Provide face to face and telehealth assistance to employment clients to support them applying for suitable jobs; Assist and encourage employment clients to apply for advertised job vacancies and support them through the screening and placement process (if required); Check in regularly with employment clients and employers to ensure their onboarding, induction and general engagement in the new role is going successfully.

Requirements

  • Tertiary degree in Human Resources or Disability Services and/or relevant experience equivalent to the degree
  • Experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation counselling, career development or a related field
  • An understanding of current government initiatives in relation to employment
  • Ability in establishing and building positive working relationships with all levels of staff, clients and external stakeholders and promoting services

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or the willingness to obtain
