About The Position

Goodwill Industries of the Columbia is seeking an Employment Consultant to assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining community employment. This position is responsible for business engagement activities with local employers, identifying position openings, and matching the most appropriate individual to the open job vacancy. It also involves providing hands-on support to individuals so that they can maintain successful, long-term employment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare individuals with disabilities for successful job search through resume building, completion of job applications, employer visits, mock interviewing, etc.
  • Create employment partnerships in the business community through cold-calling and personal relationship development.
  • Document work with individuals served and community employers.
  • Support individuals in new jobs through job coaching and retention services.
  • Work closely with the Disability Services team to create and execute individualized employment plans, and to ensure placement plans, goals, and targets are being met.
  • Engage with community and systems to create innovative partnerships.
