Employment Consultant
About The Position
New Horizons is seeking an Employment Consultant to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities pursue their individual goals. The Employment Consultant, also referred to as a Career Coach, works with individuals to explore personal interests and identify possible career goals; assists with job applications and interviews; helps secure transportation to and from work; and provides support with on-site task completion. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships, along with problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills. Employment Consultants make a positive difference in the lives of the individuals they support and in the community.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must complete required training, including First Aid/CPR certification.
- Must pass a drug test.
- Background report and driving record required.
- TB test required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Four years of higher education preferred.
Responsibilities
