About The Position

The Employment Compliance Specialist I provides foundational support for employment compliance matters under appropriate supervision. This role assists with investigations, intake activities, documentation, recordkeeping, and compliance-related projects while developing practical knowledge of employment policies, procedures, and legal requirements. The position is expected to build proficiency in fact-finding, case documentation, and risk awareness while supporting consistency and compliance across assigned matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in human resources, employee relations, compliance, or related administrative support.
  • Experience supporting intake, documentation, recordkeeping, or case-related processes preferred.
  • Strong written communication, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to prepare clear and accurate documentation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and business information.
  • Ability to learn and apply employment policies, procedures, and compliance concepts with appropriate guidance.
  • Ability to gather, organize, and evaluate information to support fact-finding, documentation, and compliance review.
  • Effective collaboration skills, including the ability to incorporate feedback, ask appropriate questions, and communicate professionally with internal partners and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates learning agility, ownership, and willingness to progressively assume increased responsibility with appropriate oversight.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms, case management systems, and standard office technologies.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support workplace investigations by assisting with fact-finding, document review, note-taking, summary drafting, and planning preparation.
  • Develop investigation and compliance skills by shadowing senior team members and taking on assigned portions of matters with appropriate oversight.
  • Assist with ADA intake, wage and hour documentation, workforce reduction analysis, and related compliance matters by gathering, organizing, and documenting information for review.
  • Participate in internal discussions and HRBP or leadership meetings in a support capacity to help evaluate facts, process considerations, and potential compliance risks.
  • Maintain accurate case files, records, and compliance documentation in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to compliance projects, training materials, job aids, and SharePoint resources by drafting content, incorporating feedback, and obtaining required review before distribution.
