About The Position

The Employment Coach for UMOS’ Transitional Jobs (TJ) Program recruits participants and pre-screens them for eligibility, conducts orientations and job-readiness activities, assesses participants, and develops joint employment plans. The role places eligible participants at subsidized-employment host worksites and manages a participant caseload, ensuring files and case documentation comply with program policies and UMOS procedures. The Employment Coach develops relationships with potential and existing host worksites, evaluates worksites for safety and alignment with participants’ career goals, and secures worksite agreements. The role serves as a liaison between host worksites and UMOS, helps address customer-service and retention issues, coordinates payroll information with the Quality Assurance Team, and supports worksite job-description development and slot tracking. The coach also refers participants to essential services and works with collaborating organizations to connect participants with suitable worksites. The hourly pay range is $18.80–$23.10, depending on experience. Employment is contingent on successfully completing a criminal background check before starting.
