The Employment Coach role involves supporting individuals with job development, including resume building, practice interviews, and learning employability skills. It also includes assisting with transportation to and from work, accessing the community, maintaining employment and productivity, discovering interests, skills, and employment goals, and creating a meaningful daily schedule. A primary goal is to build healthy relationships with the individuals served, their co-workers, roommates, and neighbors. The Employment Coach is responsible for carrying out directives from management, ensuring service and support needs are met, and providing mentorship with a focus on health, safety, and quality of life. The role requires skills in job development and on-the-job supports guided by PBIS and Instructional Support Strategies, aiming to secure competitive integrated jobs aligned with individual skills and talents. The coach will also assist in gathering information for Individualized Support Plans (ISP) and utilize digital tools like Zoom and online platforms for remote services and job searching. Maintaining strong business relationships with employers and volunteer sites is also a key aspect of the role.
