The Employment Coach role involves supporting individuals with job development, including resume building, practice interviews, and learning employability skills. They also assist with transportation to and from work, accessing the community, maintaining employment and productivity, discovering interests and goals, and creating meaningful daily schedules. A key aspect of the role is building healthy relationships with the individuals served, their co-workers, roommates, and neighbors. The Employment Coach is responsible for carrying out directives from management, ensuring the service and support needs of individuals are met, and prioritizing health, safety, and quality of life. They provide job development and on-the-job supports using PBIS and Instructional Support Strategies to help individuals secure competitive integrated jobs. The role also involves gathering information for Individualized Support Plans (ISP) and utilizing digital tools like Zoom and online platforms for remote services and job searching. Maintaining strong business relationships with employers and volunteer sites is also crucial.
