About The Position

The Employment/Education Specialist acts as the liaison between the client and the employers/representatives from Vocational/Educational services. This role involves administrative duties, providing support to clients, and coordinating resources. The specialist is expected to maintain client records, provide job readiness training, and ensure adherence to ethical standards and professional boundaries. A key aspect of the role is coordinating and executing annual resource fairs for vocational/job and educational resources, as well as supporting the on-site volunteer program.

Requirements

  • Proof of valid California driver’s license and auto insurance, as well as proof of education are required.
  • Knowledge and experience with job and educational/vocational coordination for adults is required.
  • Intermediate level PC skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills and communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time.
  • Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking.
  • May be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Requires significant use of computer, tablet, phone and/or general office equipment.
  • Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects.
  • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
  • Will require off-site travel 20% (local and out of state) - meeting, county and/or client needs.
  • Will use personal car or vehicle as required for travel and/or transportation.
  • Will travel for meetings, training, etc. as needed.

  • Prior behavioral health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain education/job records.
  • Assess clients for placement.
  • Refer clients to applicable resources.
  • Ensure one-on-one education and employment support is provided.
  • Maintain client records and provide follow up contact for successful placement assurance.
  • Provide job readiness training, groups, and classes to clients.
  • Maintain and ensures HIPAA, ethical standards and professional boundaries with all staff and clients.
  • Coordinate and execute two annual resource fairs. One for vocational/job related resources and the second for educational related resources.
  • Support the on-site volunteer program, Word-Order-Day.
  • Other duties as assigned or necessary to support the program and/or the company.
  • Provide the best customer care possible.
  • Identify and build upon the strengths of clients, coworkers, and the communities we serve.
  • Support clients’ steps towards Recovery and Wellness.
