Since 1984, Larkin Street Youth Services has helped more than 75,000 young adults in San Francisco with outreach, shelter, housing, education, employment, healthcare, and other services. Today, Larkin Street Youth Services is the largest provider of housing and services to homeless youth in the Bay Area. We serve 1,500 youth annually, operating or partnering to provide more than 500 emergency shelter, transitional, supportive, and subsidy-based housing beds at several unique sites across San Francisco. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Under the guidance of the Program Manager, t he Employment & Education Navigator serves as a bridge between Larkin Street’s housing programs and workforce development services within the Larkin Street Academy (LSA). This role is responsible for managing a caseload of educational placement efforts, cross-training housing site case managers on employment support fundamentals and strengthening the referral pipeline between housing and employment programs. The Navigator collaborates with the ACE Coordinator to align educational initiatives, conducts quarterly follow-ups with prior fiscal year participants, and collects and reports workforce data to ensure grant compliance. This position is designed to restore employment support capacity during a period of increased enrollment targets and heightened OEWD compliance requirements, enabling Employment Specialists to focus entirely o n employment-related placements and services. This is a full-time position , eligible for full benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with housing site Case Managers, including regular travel to housing sites across San Francisco.
  • Coordinate and facilitate job readiness workshops at housing sites to cross-train case management staff on employment support fundamentals and align employment plans with housing goals.
  • Manage a dedicated caseload of 30 or more educational placement efforts, connecting participants to GED, college, Scholarship, vocational training, and credentialing programs.
  • Conduct quarterly follow-ups with participants from the prior fiscal year to track retention, employment status, and educational progress.
  • Collaborate with the ACE Coordinator to strengthen and align educational programming and increase participant support, track and document educational and training placements to support grant deliverable completion and performance reporting.
  • Collect, enter, and report workforce data for OEWD grant compliance using ETO (Efforts to Outcomes) WFC (workforce Central) Salesforce & Relevant CRM/database systems.
  • Create and maintain a streamlined referral process between housing programs, Employment Success Services, and educational partners to ensure consistent client engagement across all sites.
  • Support participant enrollment, intake, and assessment for workforce development programming
  • Participate in monthly Larkin Street Academy graduations and collaborate with Employment Training Program (ETP), YouthForce, and Education teams.
  • Assist in the coordination of hiring events, career panels, and employer engagement activities hosted by Larkin Street Academy.
  • Attend OEWD monthly and quarterly meetings, training, and program planning sessions as assigned.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
