About The Position

Achev is seeking a business-savvy problem-solver with a passion for helping employer partners find key talent. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, inclusive, and flexible work environment. The Employer Liaison will support Achev Peel EO 4 locations, with a home office based in Brampton South. The position requires regular travel across Malton, Mississauga, Brampton South, Brampton East, York, and Toronto, including off-site employer visits. The Employer Liaison plays a crucial role within Employment Ontario, focusing on creating quality job opportunities, building strong employer relationships, and supporting participants through job matching, experiential placements, and retention services. This role is integral to a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive team environment and may involve delivering all aspects of the Integrated Employment Services (IES) model. The successful candidate will join a growing team with an established network of employer-partners. Our diverse team is collaborative, client-focused, and values inclusive communication.

Requirements

  • University degree or relevant college diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in job search coaching, job placement, incentives, or retention services.
  • Experience facilitating job‑search workshops for adults using current strategies and tools.
  • Strong understanding of job search strategies, career counselling, and employment facilitation.
  • Experience supporting diverse groups (adults, youth, newcomers, and individuals with specialized needs).
  • Knowledge of community resources and related employment programs.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, goal‑driven, with excellent time‑management skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, presentation, and coaching abilities.
  • Strong computer literacy and familiarity with assessment and career resources.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, or split shifts when required.

  • Having a proactive attitude, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential for success in this role.
  • The candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including newcomers, youth, and social assistance recipients, and proactively develop solutions to potential barriers.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage employers to identify work opportunities and promote Employment Ontario job matching and placement supports.
  • Match participants—particularly those facing employment barriers—to suitable opportunities based on skills and interests.
  • Negotiate placement agreements, training plans, contracts, and financial incentives with employers.
  • Coordinate experiential and on‑the‑job training opportunities (volunteer roles, job‑test‑and‑hire, work experience).
  • Conduct employer eligibility assessments and site visits to ensure safe, suitable placements.
  • Provide employers with information or training related to workplace safety, diversity, accommodation, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Monitor placements and provide coaching to support successful outcomes.
  • Administer employer contracts and incentive payments accurately and on time.
  • Identify participants who require enhanced on‑the‑job support.
  • Develop individualized retention support plans with EO colleagues, participants, mentors/coaches, and employers.
  • Maintain and oversee a pool of mentors/coaches and ensure effective mentorship relationships.
  • Monitor the success of mentorship supports and make adjustments as needed.
  • Document rationale for retention supports and update service plans in accordance with IES requirements.
  • Deliver structured job search assistance individually or in group settings.
  • Support career exploration, skills/interest assessment, and goal setting.
  • Facilitate workplace orientation (expectations, culture, rights and responsibilities).
  • Coach participants in life skills related to employment success.
  • Assist in developing resumes, applications, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
  • Help participants assess qualifications, navigate accreditation pathways, and access additional training or community supports.
  • Provide continuous mentorship and coaching during the job search process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records and follow‑up activities in all required databases.
  • Collaborate with Employment Support Specialists, EO management, EO partners, and internal teams to update action plans and supports.
  • Support other components of the Integrated Employment Services (IES) model as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive, adaptable, inclusive, and high‑performing team culture.
  • Travel to other sites, locations, and employer locations to support client service as needed.
