The Employer Liaison provides employment services to immigrants and Canadian Citizens wishing to pursue a career in construction in Ontario. Reporting to the Director and the Senior Director of Employment and Newcomer Services, the Employer Liaison is responsible for ensuring the program facilitation is seamless, ensuring that there is sufficient community awareness for the program, and providing support to program participants. The Employer Liaison is also responsible for the recruitment, selection, and deselection of program participants, facilitation of workshops, and connecting program participants to employment.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent in a related field
  • Related education might include: Recruitment Training, Human Resources Certification, Social Services Worker Diploma or Developmental Services Worker Diploma
  • Fluent in English, oral and written
  • Experience in job development/matching and/or employment counselling
  • Ability to showcase program participant’s skills to skilled trades employers
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and video conferencing platforms
  • Ability to work with clients with diverse backgrounds and skill levels
  • Strong facilitation skills with proven experience in developing curriculum in career readiness, pre-employment, and life skills within an employment program setting
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Superior problem-solving and creative skills
  • Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
  • A Police Record check, not more than 6 months old is required.
  • Annually, staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
