About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas (GWNETX) is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Team Lead to serve as the primary resource for employee relations matters across its Texas and Oklahoma operations. This role partners with leaders at all levels to promote a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with employment laws, organizational policies, and best practices. The Employee Relations Team Lead will lead employee relations efforts that support the mission, protect people, and strengthen the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Three to five years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, workplace investigations, corrective action management, and manager coaching
  • Knowledge of employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • Valid Texas or Oklahoma driver's license and ability to travel throughout the GWNETX service area

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations cases from intake through resolution, addressing workplace concerns including performance management, attendance, policy violations, conflict resolution, misconduct, and corrective action.
  • Provide expert coaching and guidance to managers and supervisors on navigating sensitive employee situations.
  • Conduct workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, safety concerns, workplace violence, theft, and other policy-related matters, including gathering evidence, interviewing parties, documenting findings, and preparing reports.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on federal employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII) and support compliance with Texas and Oklahoma employment regulations.
  • Manage leave administration, unemployment claims, agency responses, policy interpretation, exit interview analysis, and employment-related reporting.
  • Deliver manager training on employee relations topics.
  • Support leadership development initiatives.
  • Use workforce data to identify trends, improve retention, reduce organizational risk, and strengthen employee engagement across multiple locations.
