About The Position

The Employee Relations team serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and associates, helping foster a positive, compliant, and inclusive workplace while mitigating organizational risk. The team partners closely with HR Business Partners, People Services, Legal, Benefits, Payroll, and business leaders to ensure the consistent and fair application of employee policies, practices, and employment requirements. This team reports to the Head of Employee Relations & Human Resources Compliance and plays a critical role in supporting TransUnion's culture, associate experience, and business objectives. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week. This role exists to provide day-to-day employee relations support and guidance to managers and associates, helping foster a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace. The position is focused on the practical delivery of employee relations services, including case management, manager coaching, policy interpretation, and workplace issue resolution. The role drives consistent application of HR practices, timely resolution of employee concerns, risk mitigation, and an enhanced associate and manager experience.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of employee relations experience supporting managers and associates in a fast-paced environment, including case management, workplace investigations, performance management, and policy interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and workplace practices to effectively advise managers, mitigate risk, and ensure compliant people decisions.
  • Experience managing employee relations cases from intake through resolution, including documentation, stakeholder coordination, and escalation of complex matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance empathy, sound judgment, and practical problem-solving when addressing workplace concerns and resolving employee issues.
  • Experience coaching people leaders on performance management, corrective action, attendance concerns, workplace conduct issues, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to analyze employee relations trends and workforce data to identify patterns, recommend solutions, and support proactive interventions that improve the employee experience.
  • Experience utilizing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), case management systems, and employee records platforms to document and manage employee relations activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, for reporting, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to analyze employee relations data, absence trends, and workforce metrics to support recommendations and business decision-making.
  • Experience maintaining confidential case documentation and records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted first point of contact for managers seeking guidance on employee relations matters, providing practical, timely, and solution-oriented support.
  • Manage a portfolio of employee relations cases from intake through resolution, ensuring appropriate documentation, compliance, and escalation of higher-risk or complex matters.
  • Partner with managers on performance management, attendance concerns, workplace conduct issues, and corrective action processes to drive consistency and fairness across employee decisions.
  • Coach front-line leaders on performance conversations, attendance management, feedback delivery, workplace conflict resolution, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Apply HR policies, procedures, and employment requirements to day-to-day workplace situations while escalating more complex employee relations matters as appropriate.
  • Support organizational changes and workforce actions through employee communications, documentation, and process execution.
  • Coordinate with HR partners, Benefits, Payroll, People Services, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless case administration and employee lifecycle support.
  • Support work authorization, visa, and immigration-related processes in partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Assist with unemployment claims, hearings, investigations, and termination processes while ensuring compliance with company practices and risk controls.
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to reporting and analysis of employee relations trends, absenteeism, and turnover metrics to support proactive interventions and business decision-making.
