About The Position

The Employee Relations Specialist will support assigned field dealerships and assist the Human Resource Director with moderate to complex and specialized operational and administrative tasks. This includes managing various employee relations matters, projects, initial fact-finding, serving as a liaison for resolution, and providing case statuses and summaries. The goal is to achieve high-level client output and support.

Requirements

  • Excellent and effective Written and Verbal Communication.
  • Ability to provide unbiased Critical Evaluation, Support and Solutions.
  • HR Expertise at a multi-level, multi-site capacity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
  • Relationship Management.
  • Maintain Ethical and Consistent Practices case by case, task by task.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Ability to type 40 WPM.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites – particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information at the highest level of discretion.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of administrative or human resource task experience at minimum.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clerical support to the HR department by maintaining accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Serves as the initial point of contact to answer and field frequently asked questions from managers and employees regarding standard policies, leave, concerns, and hiring processes, referring more complex issues as appropriate.
  • Facilitates and initiates inquiries and investigations into complaints or concerns identified verbally, in writing, or through the HR Hotline, utilizing provided tools such as forms, guidance, and training, with support from the HR Director.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files, information, and records.
  • Proofreads, updates, and types documents and correspondence produced by the department to ensure professionalism, detail orientation, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • Assists in and primarily facilitates the review of processes for paperwork/documentation related to coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, separations, and other employee relations matters.
  • Assists in onboarding processes, including collecting I9 information, Employee Handbook acknowledgments, and completing new hire processes and trainings.
  • Reviews recruiting/coaching/retention source data to assist managers in improving recruiting techniques and utilizing available tools.
  • Acts as a resource for the HR Director and Business Manager for organizational or employee necessities related to performance, recruitment, investigations, inquiries, concerns, questions, and compliance.
  • Assists in the administration and creation of employee relations programs and initiatives, primarily monitoring the performance appraisal process.
  • Coordinates, processes, and initiates processing tasks related to federal leaves such as FMLA, ADA, and USERRA administration.
  • Facilitates and records exit or stay interviews when requested.
  • Assists the HR Director in organizational training and development efforts, including creation and deployment.
  • Participates in various corporate, administrative, and mandatory weekly team meetings, and attends other meetings and seminars as needed for development and training.
  • Completes return to work (RTW) processes, including communicating with employees, collecting documentation, ensuring requirements are met, and communicating timelines with managers.
  • Assists in carrying out various human resource processes and procedures for other dealerships as assigned or as business needs dictate.
  • May assist in certain payroll data functions or auditing.
  • Performs other human resources and support-related duties as required and assigned.
