About The Position

The Employee Relations Partner I conducts workplace investigations in their assigned business unit when a complaint or allegation is submitted via the ethics hotline, direct contact, survey feedback, or any other method of submission. Once investigations are completed, the Employee Relations Partner will prepare an investigative report and archive in the appropriate system. This position may be filled as a Sr. Employee Relations Partner. Additional responsibilities and qualifications apply. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years in Human Resources to include prior experience with conducting employee investigations, HR compliance (FMLA, ADA, etc.) and interviewing skills
  • Interview associates and facilitate investigations
  • Federal and state employment regulations (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.)
  • Investigative report writing
  • Communication and facilitation skills
  • Critical thinking and decision making
  • Stakeholder coordination
  • Microsoft Office/Productivity Tools (Excel, PPT, Word)
  • Collaboration Tools (Teams, SharePoint)

  • Prior experience in HR with a financial institution preferred
  • 5+ years in Human Resources to include prior experience with conducting employee investigations, HR compliance (FMLA, ADA, etc.), and interviewing skills (Sr. level)
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certified (Sr. level)
  • Certification in Workplace Investigations (e.g., AWI-CH, HRCI) (Sr. level)

Responsibilities

  • Leads thorough workplace investigations for low-risk policy violations, employee complaints, and misconduct by facilitating interviews with involved individuals.
  • Actively participates in workplace investigations for medium-risk policy violations, employee complaints, and misconduct by facilitating interviews with involved individuals.
  • Develops workplace investigative reports that provide a summary of the information collected, recommendations, and risk assessment and submits reports to manager. Reports should be shared as appropriate with members of the HR team.
  • Mediates and resolves interpersonal conflict that has been escalated to employee relations.
  • Partners with the associate’s manager to determine corrective action as needed. Elevate to appropriate leadership, as needed.
  • Mitigates legal risk by collaborating with legal and compliance teams to ensure all stakeholders are in compliance with federal and state employment regulations (i.e. FMLA, EEO, ADA).
  • Develop and implement human resource policies for associate behavior, attendance, and conduct.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned including employee relations special projects, as needed.
  • Develop and deliver training workshops for employees and leaders (Sr. level)
  • Mentors Employee Relations Partner II by assisting with investigations and advising recommendations as needed. (Sr. level)
  • Analyze investigation trends and provide insights to refine policies and improve processes (Sr. level)
  • Serve as a mentor to other Employee Relations Partners (Sr. level)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned (Sr. level)
