About The Position

The Iowa DOT is seeking an Employee Relations Partner to join our dynamic Human Resources team! Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • A passion for customer service, a proactive approach to problem solving, and an unwavering dedication to integrity.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
  • A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience in technical or professional human resources work, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience.
  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three years of full-time work performing technical human resources work.

Responsibilities

  • Champion customer service by providing timely, empathetic, and effective support to employees and leaders.
  • Solve problems by analyzing workplace concerns, recommending fair and practical resolutions, and conducting thorough investigations.
  • Model integrity by interpreting policies, codes, and laws with transparency and advising others on ethical application.
  • Coach leaders through both small and large employee issues, offering consultation and resolution guidance.
  • Support policy development and deliver engaging training sessions to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Teach leaders in one-on-one and classroom settings on topics related to employee relations.
