About The Position

The Employee Relations Partner is a key member of the Operations team who collaborates closely with operational leadership to provide advice/guidance and assist with strategies that enhance employee relations, performance management, engagement, and retention across the organization. This role is responsible for advising school leaders of SEG policies and labor laws, managing employee relations matters, assisting with employee relations projects, and serving as a resource to operational leaders.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and employment law.
  • Working knowledge of multi-state employment law with a strong emphasis on California labor standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to influence and partner effectively with leaders at all levels.
  • Ability to apply policies and procedures with empathy, flexibility and sound judgement.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Comfortable analyzing ER data and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with school leaders and employees in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Adaptability to evolving organizational needs and cross-team collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion with sensitive information.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 1-3 years of experience, preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist operational leaders with employee relations inquiries and engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with investigations into employee concerns.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, wage and hour laws, safety requirements, and mandatory employee training completion.
  • Support the maintenance and update of employee relations policies and procedures that improve efficiency and support business objectives.
  • Leverage HRIS and reporting tools to provide insights and ensure data integrity across employee lifecycle process.
  • Assist with critical projects such as school openings and closings, ensuring effective planning, communication, and execution for smooth transitions.
  • Support leaders and employees through organizational change with empathy, clear communication, and consistent application of employee relations practices.
  • Stay updated on changes to labor laws and regulations and ensure organizational compliance across regional locations.
  • Travel occasionally to school sites and corporate offices for meetings, trainings, and other ER responsibilities.
