About The Position

STARPLUS ENERGY LLC is seeking an Employee Relations Generalist to play a key role in our ability to deliver what we promise to our customers. The Employee Relations Generalist will identify and drive operating efficiencies through contractual agreements, provide employee relations support to employees and leaders across the organization, and enable a positive workplace culture and environment. The ideal candidate will possess a customer focus mindset, always striving to provide the best support to the employees, management, and the union, while ensuring the continued sustainability of STARPLUS ENERGY LLC. He/She should focus on building and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders through open and transparent communication. The Employee Relations Generalist should also be open to the viewpoints of others and take those viewpoints into account when making business decisions and recommendations. This position reports to the Employee Relations Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
  • Ability to work flexible hours due to the operating pattern of the plant, overtime, weekends, or holidays as required
  • 2 years’ experience in labor relations field, such as contract administration, grievance handling, problem resolution and counseling to employees
  • Strong interest in growing as a Human Resources Professional
  • Interest in working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication, team building and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization and record keeping skills
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information System and reporting tools
  • Experience leading others is highly desirable
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Experience working with projects from inception to completion
  • Multi-tasking multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations including Fair Labor Standards Act, National Labor Relations Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act

Responsibilities

  • Manage the administration of the attendance program and discipline assessments
  • Run attendance reports and gather information to compile into presentations with trend analysis
  • Lead EEOC and other workplace investigations
  • Coach, guide, and provide direction to operating management on assigned shift
  • Facilitate the effectiveness of management and union relations
  • Administration of the collective agreement including grievance administration, interpretation, and overall compliance
  • Perform other position related duties as assigned
