About The Position

Nava is seeking a Benefits System Specialist contractor to join their shared services team. This role will primarily focus on Employee Navigator builds, renewals, and the migration of clients from EASE to Employee Navigator. The specialist will be the main point of contact for Employee Navigator across Nava's client base, responsible for executing plan builds and renewals, troubleshooting issues, managing client migrations, coordinating carrier file feeds, and performing quality assurance checks. The role requires managing a significant volume of both reactive support and planned build work, necessitating the ability to context-switch effectively between different tasks. Collaboration with Client Success teammates, clients, and vendors will be a key aspect of the position.

Requirements

  • Expert-level, hands-on experience configuring and managing benefit plan builds in Employee Navigator, including plan setup, contribution structures, age-banded rates, class configurations, OE activation, and census imports
  • Experience managing or supporting EASE-to-EN migrations, including familiarity with EASE agency transfers and an understanding of where EN and EASE differ in plan structure capabilities
  • Working knowledge of 834 EDI and API carrier file feeds, including setup, eligibility minimum requirements, and basic troubleshooting
  • Prior experience in a brokerage or benefits consulting environment working with employer group clients
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple open tickets and client builds simultaneously without dropping the ball

  • Additional BenAdmin platform experience is a plus, particularly with any of the following: ADP Workforce Now, Rippling, EASE, BambooHR, Paycom, or other SMB-focused HRIS platforms

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end build and renewal process for a dedicated book of clients in Employee Navigator, including plan configuration, rate setup, eligibility rules, contribution structures, census imports, and OE activation.
  • Manage client transitions off EASE, including agency transfer coordination, advising Client Success teams on migration strategies, and troubleshooting migration-specific issues.
  • Complete formal QA checks on builds before they go live, including OE testing walkthroughs and documented handoff notes.
  • Serve as the tier-2 technical resource for the Client Success team, fielding inbound questions on enrollment form errors, OE configuration, carrier connection problems, and employee record discrepancies.
  • Set up and maintain 834 EDI and API carrier file feeds, verify carrier eligibility requirements, and liaise with clients, carriers, and data teams to resolve file issues.
  • Join client calls when technical EN or BenAdmin expertise is needed, including troubleshooting sessions, OE kickoffs, and platform walkthroughs.
  • Partner directly with Employee Navigator support and other BenAdmin vendors to resolve platform limitations, escalate issues, and stay current on system capabilities.
