Requirements

  • Knowledge of theory, techniques and practices of employee health.
  • BLS upon hire required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
  • Experience in Workers? Compensation, insurance and the medical field preferred.
  • Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates employee annual physicals, PPD, and Fit Testing while maintaining tracking system.
  • Ensures timely processing of Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • Evaluates accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure adequate investigation.
  • Serves as the primary health contact for injured employees in the work environment.
  • If an RN, provides emergency evaluation and treatment for work related injuries. If not an RN, refers employees to appropriate department for emergency evaluation and treatment for work related injuries.
  • Assures cost effective coordination of treatment, referral to preferred providers, collaborates with management in development of objectives for employee health services compatible with goals and objectives of the hospital.
  • Documents accurately and helps to maintain required confidential employee and administrative records.
