About The Position

Marsh McLennan Agency is seeking a talented Employee Health & Benefits (EH&B) Practice Leader for the Southwest region. This role, with flexibility in location among Dallas, Houston, Austin, or Fort Worth, oversees the EH&B Practice to maximize shareholder value. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making abilities to provide direction, build a cohesive team, implement change, and motivate others. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the accomplishment of the company’s strategic business plan objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience and expertise in the Employee Health & Benefits insurance industry and an understanding of the independent broker competitive landscape.
  • Previous management experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency with internet technologies and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and solve simple to complex personnel and operational problems.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as required.
  • Active Texas Life, Accident & Health License.

Responsibilities

  • Benchmark EH&B Practice performance against industry peers and lead initiatives to improve operational productivity.
  • Identify additional product and service opportunities to expand EH&B offerings and cross‑sell across the firm.
  • Develop and champion relationships with key carrier partners to support strategic growth.
  • Negotiate new business capacity with new and existing carrier partners.
  • Participate in C‑level projects and provide senior-level perspective on practice strategy and priorities.
  • Project strong leadership to ensure continuous development of the Agency and the EH&B practice.
  • Work with department Supervisors and Managers on recruiting, onboarding, and training to build capacity and capability.
  • Support supervisors in change initiatives, coaching, and implementation activities that develop team skills and performance.
  • Support supervisors in automation, operational research, and process improvement efforts to increase efficiency and service quality.
  • Ensure all EH&B Practice activities and operations comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing business operations.
  • Demonstrate success in resolving complex operational and insurance issues to maintain consistent service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain a professional image of the agency with clients, colleagues, shareholders, carriers and the general public.
  • Own EH&B Practice client retention and satisfaction; drive actions to improve client outcomes and loyalty.
  • Leverage carrier and market relationships to deliver client solutions and competitive offerings.
